Ten reasons why the U.S. war in Libya is a CIA operation

Ten reasons why the U.S. war in Libya is a CIA operation

(FinalCall.com) – The U.S.-led attack on Libya is an American operation of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), planned and initiated long before any “protests” started in Libya this February.

Under the guise of “protecting innocent civilians,” the U.S. military, Africom, NATO, and the United Nations are now bombing Libya, raining destruction upon the Libyan economic and military infrastructure and killing untold numbers of innocent Africans. Here are just 10 of the many obvious reasons why this so-called “spontaneous” protest was from beginning to end another CIA operation.

1. The United States’ motives are suspect. The “humanitarian” concern expressed by the American government has not taken long to evaporate. The claim that Col. Muammar Gadhafi was “slaughtering his own people” cannot be substantiated by any independent evidence, and no “journalists” are even asking for evidence. The White House’s policy advisor and Israeli lobby official Dennis Ross claimed that “up to 100,000 people could be massacred, and everyone would blame us for it.” Ross has produced no proof of a massacre—and Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Admiral Mike Mullen both confirmed, “We’ve seen no confirmation whatsoever.” Russian military has been monitoring the unrest via satellite from the very beginning, and they say that the claimed “slaughter” is imaginary. CIA √

2. The world media have shown a shocking lack of curiosity. Just as with the U.S. debacle in Iraq and Afghanistan, the New York Timesleads a coordinated campaign of propaganda, rumor-mongering, and the demonization of Muammar Gadhafi. Some articles appear to be written in advance and closely follow the prescription of the Washington consulting firm Wirthlin Group, which determined that “the message most likely to motivate public support for war on Iraq was the perception of Saddam Hussein as an evil madman who even committed atrocities against his own people and had to be stopped.” The major media’s appetite for this “killing-his-own-people” line is textbook CIA propaganda and belies the fact that they are at this very hour operating from a swank hotel that is under Gadhafi’s total control in Tripoli. Even though they continue to spread unsubstantiated “rapes” and “cluster bombings,” and “fears of massacres,” and child-targeting, these “journalists” don’t appear to be frightened for their lives. CIA √

3. The “rebels” are Al-Qaeda. When Col. Gadhafi first claimed that the rebels were members of Al-Qaeda, no one believed him. But according to a 2007 report from the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point titled Al-Qa’ida‘s Foreign Fighters In Iraq,” eastern Libya—the very center of the current uprising—is a well-known Al-Qaeda stronghold. The same people the U.S. is fighting three wars to destroy are the “rebels” the U.S. is protecting, supplying, training, and attempting to install into power in Libya. And if the West Point military analysts knew this to be true in 2007, why did they not bomb those Al-Qaeda strong holds in the way they are bombing Gadhafi’s forces now? CIA √

4. Rebel “leaders” are CIA agents. The “rebel” leader, a man named Khalifa Hifter, left the Libyan government and set up his own militia financed by the CIA. He then spent two decades living within minutes of CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia, where, according to Rep. Dennis Kucinich, he had no apparent source of income. Shortly after the 2011 “protests” began, the CIA airlifted him into Benghazi and told the press to start calling him the “leader” of the rebels. CIA √

5. The Libyan uprising is not “spontaneous.” The incident that allegedly spurred the Libyan “rebellion” was the arrest of an activist lawyer on February 15, 2011. This ignited a wave of protests that spilled over onto the Internet and other media. But an unusually large number of YOUTUBE videos and TWITTER messages have emerged that are suspiciously similar and seem to be a product of the Pentagon’s recently uncovered project to develop software that allows it to secretly manipulate social media sites to influence Internet conversations and spread propaganda. These suspicious “free Libya” sites all claim to be homegrown, but YOUTUBE and other social media sites cannot be accessed by Internet users in Libya. The “revolution” websites are all in English even though the language of Libya is Arabic, with English rarely spoken and only in the big cities. Despite their dubious origins, professional media groups like CNN, BBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox News, and Al Jazeera have amplified these anonymous and uncorroborated video postings as legitimate news sources. And some of the “spontaneous” websites are clearly fraudulent. One that calls itself “LIBYAN REVOLUTIONARY CENTRAL” (http://www.feb17.info/) was created on February 14—A DAY BEFORE the original protest. And the website is registered in Ohio as a non-profit organization with a 501c3 tax exempt ID number! CIA √

6a. Whites are desperate for Libyan oil. America and Europe are dependent on the type of oil that is only found in Libya. It is a very high quality “sweet” oil with low sulfur content. Europe’s refineries cannot process other types of high sulfur oil, so when Gadhafi recently suggested he could find better customers for Libyan oil in India, China, and Russia, it made Europe desperate for an immediate Libyan “uprising.” CIA √

6b. New oil infrastructure already in place. Only days after the “spontaneous” protests the “rebels,” who were mostly seen in grainy cell phone videos chanting slogans and waving banners, had organized themselves into a sophisticated corporate entity and announced their formation and launching of the “Libyan Oil Company” to supervise oil production for all of Libya, and their creation of the “Central Bank of Benghazi” as a monetary authority. The French government instantaneously recognized these new business entities formed by “the rebels” even though it was still publicly wondering who the rebel leaders were. CIA √

7. CIA history in Libya. The CIA has a LONG documented history of attempts to overthrow Col. Gadhafi. At least four major CIA operations, some in partnership with the Israeli Mossad, have been conducted since 1972. Gadhafi’s use of oil revenues to organize and uplift Africa from its colonial destruction is EXACTLY the opposite of America’s foreign policy, which has always sought to strip Africa of its raw resources to enrich the multinational corporations. Col. Gadhafi has invested billions of dollars in projects to help emerging African countries become independent. He has worked to establish a “United States of Africa”—an effort to unite Africa to finally overcome the damage caused by centuries of European colonialism. It was Gadhafi who drove the African Union’s efforts toward a single African Parliament, a single currency, and a single army. The CIA has no other function than to stop this kind of Black unity and progress. CIA √

8. Libyan invasion planned prior to 9/11. In a 2007 filmed interview, 4-star United States Army Gen. Wesley Clark discussed a Pentagon memo under Donald Rumsfeld that, in his words, “describes how we’re going to take out seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon,Libya, Somalia, Sudan and, finishing off, Iran.CIA √

9. The U.S. companies in Libya are invisible. Many U.S. corporations that have been, are now, and will continue to do business in Libya are UNDER NO PRESSURE to leave or “give back” their profits, or alter their business activity with Gadhafi’s so-called “murderous regime.” Curiously, they have achieved a status different from that of The Hon. Min. Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam, which also had a business relationship with Libya—but for comparatively infinitesimal sums. The U.S. companies in Libya whose Libyan business arrangements have yet to be questioned are many, and include:

Chevron Oil
ConocoPhillips
Hess Corporation
Marathon Oil Corporation
Occidental Petroleum
Sheraton Hotels
Exxon Mobil
Dow Chemical
Halliburton
Raytheon
Motorola
Four Seasons Hotels
Shell Oil
United Gulf Construction
Valmont, and White & Case
Marriott Hotels
Intercontinental Hotels

In reality, the CIA works for the multinational corporations to tenaciously protect their world interests. CIA √

10. Rape is charged. A distraught, English-speaking, Arab woman fortuitously finds her way from days of gang rape by Gadhafi’s soldiers into the only hotel in Tripoli where foreign journalists are encamped (apparently dropped off by her tormentors) where she reports of her ordeal to the gathered media who immediately, unquestioningly, broadcast the brutal crime to the world as proven fact. She claimed that she was detained at a checkpoint, tied up, abused, then led away to be gang raped—all whilst her assailants were defending Tripoli against a Western bombing campaign. “They defecated and urinated on me and tied me up,” she said, her face streaming with tears. “They violated my honor, look at what the Gadhafi militiamen did to me.”

Everybody who heard this woman’s claims—except 100 percent of the Western media—immediately remembered October 1990, when a sobbing 15-year-old Kuwaiti girl gave unsworn testimony in a Congressional hearing chaired by Zionist congressman Thomas Lantos in which she described what she saw in a Kuwaiti hospital with her own eyes: “While I was there, I saw the Iraqi soldiers come into the hospital with guns, and go into the room where … babies were in incubators. They took the babies out of the incubators, took the incubators, and left the babies on the cold floor to die.”

The girl was actually the daughter of a Kuwaiti ambassador, and had been coached by the public relations firm Hill and Knowlton to give false testimony. Three months passed between the hearing and the start of the first Gulf War during which the fabricated incubator story was repeated over and over again by seven U.S. senators and ten times by President G.H.W. Bush himself. It was recited as fact in congressional testimony, on TV and radio talk shows like Nightline, and at the UN Security Council. It is cited as the single most persuasive reason that the American public backed the first Iraq War. None of those involved with the hoax have ever faced legal reprisals. CIA √

The number ten is arbitrary, and does not represent the full extent of possibly the most brazen CIA overthrow attempt in their long and murderous history. That which drives the entire Western industrial infrastructure—petroleum oil—is the only thing on the minds of the charlatan leaders of the West, and the world watches in horrified awe as each blunder they make is exposed to the light in almost real time. The poor Libyan people and their revolutionary African champion Muammar Gadhafi are under severe assault by the very same people who only yesterday assured him he was their partner and friend. It is a 6,000-year-old history of tricks and deceptions that The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad taught us about, and it has now run its course and is bringing a well-deserved demise to Western rule.

He said in his paper entitled «What did Iraq to avert the threat of war?», that Iraq make an effort in thwarting U.S. efforts, but inspection committees sent by the United Nations played a role Tgs Sea and conspiratorial on Iraq, which decided to stop cooperating with the International Atomic Energy Agency nuclear in 1998.

THOUSANDS OF WITHIN THE RANKS OF THE TUNISIANS”jihadists” THE SYRIANS Qaradhaoui Ghannouchi and ”Jihaad“ in Syria

THOUSANDS IN THE RANKS OF TUNISIANS "jihadists" SYRIAN Qaradhaoui Ghannouchi and

Hundreds of young Tunisians are recruited in Tunisia to strengthen the ranks of the armed opposition in Syria.

They are aged between 17 and 30 years. From insecure, vulnerable and disoriented environments, they are more than 6,000 young Tunisians who have been brainwashed by radical Islamists, held in lucrative sectors, enabling in mosques for the sole purpose of sending them to fight in Syria . For them, it is jihad, no matter the price. Training camps in Libya and southern Tunisia have been designed especially for them.Transported to Turkey and Lebanon, the borders are open to invest in Syria. The facts! This is certainly not missing it.
Some of these young Tunisians came home traumatized after discovering another reality. But many will not return. If they are not held, they must be as among the dead, either in fighting or in suicide bombings. Who is responsible? The families of these young people accuse the state of doing nothing and make the guilty Tunisian Islamist party Ennahda Rached Ghannouchi this situation.

However, another name is returned to the surface in the case of recruiting “jihadists” in Tunisia: the well-known preacher, Youcef Al Qaradhaoui officiating on the Qatari channel Al Jazeera. A couple sets the objective of the power needs of jihad and promises paradise to “martyrs” Tunisians. Abu Kousay, one of the “jihadists” Tunisian parties in Syria, in an interview with Arabic-language newspaper Tunis is Assarih, is frightening revelations after his return. She states that the party “(…) with several other young Tunisians from different backgrounds.” His co-religionists are currently located alongside Islamists in Syria. It also indicates the “presence of 13 girls in the ranks of jihadists.”
It is only a start cascading young Tunisians and under pressure from families that authorities began to worry. In this context, the prosecutor of the court of first instance in Tunis said recently in a statement that “an investigation was opened by the Tunisian floor. Its main role is to identify networks that facilitate the recruitment of Tunisians in the ranks of the Syrian rebellion. “
Recruits, not doubt, are selected from the poorest. Recruiters said in that Professor Naceur Khechini a specialist Sharia “target young and less educated unemployed through financial incentives and religious fatwas.” Moreover, the current Prime Minister, Ali Larayedh did no better than to declare that “young Tunisians are free to leave the country,” claiming that “the authorities are not entitled to their own ban on legally. “ According to the French newspaper Le Monde, some observers believe that the mass exodus of young Tunisians to Syria is a conspiracy to clear the “jihadist” Tunisian scene of his elite! The newspaper said in a recent edition of “if you do not cover the Ennahda or preachers, suspicions on enrollment networks cover Qatar.” Citing an interview with a freelance journalist, the same newspaper says “the leader of the Salafist group Ansar al-Sharia, Abu Ayad, wanted by the police since the attack on the U.S. embassy on 14 September 2012, had tried to stem the tide of departures. He feared a plot to clear Tunisian jihadist scene of its elements.

His appeal was posted on the website Al-Andalusian Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), in order not to leave Tunisia in the hands of the laity. “ The World refers to the “departure of young women for sex jihad to support the Islamists in Syria,” but calling the new rumor. Can we put an end to this tragedy? When there is a Qaradhaoui calling for the assassination of Ulema, scholars and researchers – Sheikh Ramadan Al-Bouti was assassinated in Damascus after an Al Qaradhaoui fatwa - and legitimate the killing associated with Ghannouchi for enlisting jihadists to Syria, we have an unspeakable tragedy.

The President of the Tunisian Institute of International Relations (Itri) and member of the Committee on Arab observers in Syria, Ahmed Manai, a contribution to tunisois newspaper, La Presse noted that “it is an infernal genesis in which drowning thousands Young Tunisians parties Jihad in Syria, leaving their families riveted to television screens following the dramatic developments in this brother country. “ It confirms the association for the recruitment of these young people, and between Qaradhaoui Ghannouchi, and “the strategic nature of a meeting held in Tripoli on December 11, 2011, which was attended by Youcef Qaradhaoui Rached Ghannouchi and Hamad Jabber bin Jassim Al-Thani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, as well as the No. 2 of the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria, in principle all come seal the reconciliation of Libyans. The former jihadist Abdelhakim Belhaj, military governor of Tripoli, also attended the meeting, during which it was decided to join the agreement Ghalioun-Abdeljelil “arming and sending fighters and Tunisian Libya to Syria. “

Manaï adds that “it is the agreement Burhane Ghalioun Abdeljelil-Mustafa, in October 2011, which laid the foundation of military cooperation between the two” revolutions “Libyan and Syrian, joined by Tunisian Salafi-jihadist and the Ennahda party have joined the movement. “ This explains the mass exodus of young Tunisians in Syria after “indoctrination they suffered through preaching, then by direct recruitment is done more discreetly networks that have the financial resources and high-level complicity . If today the figure is 6,000 Tunisians have joined the jihad in Syria, observers warn that the number may double if a strategy against these networks is not clear urgently!

Planning the invasion and destruction of Libya

Planning the invasion and destruction of Libya

Mustafa Abdul-Jalil and Mahmoud Jibril have paved the way for the conquest of Libya by NATO since 2007

Shortly after the appointment of Abdul-Jalil in 2007, the other key player in today’s NTC – President Mahmoud Jibril – also got a government job in Libya. Jibril was appointed head of the National Planning Council and later Head of the National Economic Development Board, where, according to the U.S. cables, he too helped to “pave the way” for the privatization of Libya’s economy “and gave welcome to U.S. companies. “ By Dan Glazebroo

A violent rebellion broke out in Benghazi, Libya on February 15 of this year (2011). Six days later, Libyan Justice Minister Mustafa Abdul-Jalil resigned to set up an alternative government. On February 27, the National Transitional Council was established, and on March 5, the agency had declared the “sole representative of all Libya”, with Abdul-Jalil at its head. France recognized the NTC (National Transitional Council) as the legitimate government of Libya on March 10 and the UK offered a diplomatic post in Britain the same day.

Nine days later, the Council established a new Central Bank of Libya and the National Oil Company. In just a month since the start of the rebellion, Abdul-Jalil had positioned himself at the head not only of the rebels, but the new government in waiting, with control of Libyan resources and monetary policy and the blessing of the West.

On 17 March, NATO began its mass slaughter of Libyan soldiers in order to install his regime.

Clearly, seasoned imperial powers such as Britain, France and the U.S., would not commit to the enormous expense of an air campaign months to bring someone to power in a strategically important oil state, rich, unless they were already a tried and trusted asset. Then,

Who is exactly Abdul Jalil?

Mustafa Abdul-Jalil has been preparing the way for military and economic conquest of NATO

Abdul-Jalil gained his position in the Libyan government in January 2007, when he was appointed Secretary of the General People’s Committee for Justice (equivalent to Minister of Justice). He has been preparing the way for military and economic conquest of Libya NATO since.

First, as head of the judiciary, he oversaw the release of hundreds of anti-Gaddafi fighters who went on to form the core of the insurgency.

Hundreds of members of the Libyan Islamist Fighting Group - including its founder Abdulhakim Belhadj, now military chief of Tripoli - were released in 2009 and 2010, and became the only indigenous units with training and combat experience of the rebellion.

In January 2010, Abdul-Jalil threatened to resign unless the prisoner release program was accelerated. On the second day of the insurgency, the last batch of 110 members of the Libyan Islamic Group Fighter were released, their work, Abdul-Jalil quit his role as Minister of Justice, shortly after setting the NTC.

Second, Abdul-Jalil was able to use his position to help prepare the legal framework for corporate takeover of Libyan resources that was enacted so swiftly after the creation of the NTC.

Although his official role was head of the judiciary, a large part of the dialogue between Abdul-Jalil and U.S. officials recorded in leaked U.S. diplomatic cables focused on privatization of the economy.

These reported Abdul-Jalil excited as “private sector participation”, and expressed his conviction that this would require regime change, or as the cables euphemistically put it, “international assistance”, to fully achieve its objective. The cables also reported ominous comments that Abdul-Jalil, the question of creating a “sound commercial legal environment” and improving relations between Libya and the U.S., “needed less talk and more action” .

Thirdly, Abdul-Jalil was able to arrange “under the radar” secret meetings between the pro-privatization Libyans in the “Development Program Commercial Law and U.S. officials, both in the U.S. and Libya.

The leaked U.S. cables praised his “willingness to allow his staff to communicate with embassy officials outside of official channels” and noted that “his organization seems to have a parallel track in securing visa approvals, bypassing the Protocol and the MFA [Ministry of Foreign Affairs]. “

Shortly after the appointment of Abdul-Jalil in 2007, the other key player in today’s NTC – President Mahmoud Jibril – also had a government job in Libya. Jibril was appointed head of the National Planning Council and later Head of the National Economic Development Board, where, according to the U.S. cables, he too helped to “pave the way” for the privatization of Libya’s economy “and gave welcome to U.S. companies. “

U.S. officials were positively enthusiastic about Jibril after their meeting in May 2009, concluding that “With a PhD in strategic planning from the University of Pittsburgh, Jibril is a serious interlocutor who” gets “the U.S. perspective” . Very revealing given the spate of ambassador defections that followed the Benghazi rebellion was the additional revelation that Jibril had been helping to facilitate training programs for six U.S. diplomats.

2007 also proved to be a crucial year for the other major player in NTC today, Head of Tripoli Military Council, Abdulhakim Belhadj. Belhadj was the founder of the Islamist Fighting Group of Libya, a subsidiary of Al-Qaeda launched an armed insurrection against the Libyan state in 1995 lasting two years.

Head of Tripoli Military Council, Abdulhakim Belhadj  Al-Qaeda

His release from prison in Libya in March 2010, along with hundreds of other LIFG fighters, was the culmination of a process that began with an open letter published in November 2007 by Noman Benotman – one of many fighters from the group had received a safe haven in the UK since the uprising failed.

Born into an aristocratic family in Libya, Noman had a successful bakery business before falling into extremism and become a leader of the militant Libyan Islamic Fighting Group.

In late 1980 he travelled to Afghanistan to join the jihad against the Soviets. ”I was in the front line,” he said. ”I was shooting enemies and they fired me every day.”

Noman Bin Laden says: “You can talk to him, he is very humble. He can be very quiet, and be half an hour without speaking, listening and smiling. Such is Bin Laden.’s An intelligent, charismatic, a leader.

In 1994, he moved to Sudan, where he forged close ties with Bin Laden, Al-Zawahiri and other key members of al-Qaeda.

His letter of resignation to violence and, according to the London Times, “asked Al-Qaeda to give up all its operations in the Islamic world and the West, adding that Westerners were innocent and should not be attacked.” The letter to a process of dialogue between the LIFG and the Libyan government, and was followed two years later by an apology by the LIFG for violence against the government in the past, and a statement that ” reduction of jihad to fighting with the sword is an error and a mistake. “ Someone had suggested, obviously, for those drones and bombers B-52 would be much more effective.

Noman Betoman in Afghanistan – Al Qaeda fighter

So 2007 was the year that launched these three men on the way to his current role as proxy rulers in Libya NATO.

Benotman letter made NATO support a violent Al-Qaeda affiliate politically possible.

Abdul-Jalil appointment as Justice Minister smoothed over the fighters’ release, and prepared the legal framework for an economic takeover by Western corporations. Jibril appointment as Planning Minister prepared, at the micro level, the detail of how this acquisition would occur, and cultivates relationships with Western companies that were invited to spend.

So, why all this? Who pulls the strings?

For Benotman’s letter, this would have been a fairly simple matter of MI6 contacting him in London, where he lived, and put him in touch with a decent PR firm to help draft the letter that would politically possible to NATO was set as the Air Force LIFG.

As for the two government appointments, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi was ultimately responsible, but it was clearly their intention to reach these results. It was carrying out political and economic reforms driven by both genuine belief and a naive desire to improve relations between his government and the West, did not realize that was inadvertently setting the stage for political and economic destruction of his country.

So the question is –  who was acting in any other tips?

If it was, the most likely candidate is Mark Allen.

Mark Allen was the MI6 agent who had facilitated the “approach” of Libya with the West in 2003. Allen was no longer officially employed by MI6. In 2004, he had been fast-tracked by the British Cabinet Office, by passing usual security procedures, working for BP and in 2007, successfully concluded a massive oil deal £ 15 billion between BP and the Libyan government.

Could the appointment of Abdul-Jalil and Mahmoud Jibril have been part of this agreement?

In hindsight, given their subsequent roles, it seems highly likely that MI6 would have used whatever influence they could to maneuver willing accomplices into positions inside the Libyan government.

According to the Daily Mail, Allen was also actively involved in pressuring the UK government to support the prisoner release program. Of course, the tone of his article, as with the current media furore about MI6 complicity Belhadj in torture, all fit the general description of Gaddafi and the West had a great relationship until the rebellion started and forced to NATO to conduct a humanitarian intervention. Everything is designed to hide the reality that Libya under Gaddafi’s leadership was an obstacle to Western domination and subordination of Africa, and that MI6 has been plotting his removal ever since he came to power.

U.S. is deploying a SECRET ARMY IN AFRICA

Saturday, October 20, 2012 africa-usa

The U.S. secret war is alive and well. In addition to his military command in Africa (AFRICOM), U.S. special forces have been deployed across the continent:

“Small teams of special forces arrived at U.S. embassies around the North Africa during the months before that some fighters undertake the fierce attack that killed the ambassador [U.S.] in Libya. The soldiers’ mission: to establish a network that could quickly attack a terrorist target or rescue a hostage “(Kimberly Dozier, White House widens covert ops Presence in North Africa, AP, October 2, 2012).

U.S. is deploying a underground army across Africa. As reported by Nile Bowie (Global Research, April 2012), the goal is to “balkanized” the African continent: “In an AFRICOM Conference held at Fort McNair on February 18, 2008 Vice Admiral Robert T. Moeller openly declared the guiding principle of AFRICOM is to protect “the free flow of natural resources from Africa to the global market”, before citing the growing Chinese presence in the region with a challenge to U.S. interests.

In 2007 adviser to the U.S. State Department Dr. J. Peter Pham spoke about AFRICOM’s strategic goals of “protecting access to hydrocarbons and other strategic resources which Africa has in abundance, a task which includes ensuring against the vulnerability of those natural riches and ensuring that no other interested third-party such as China, India, Japan or Russia, obtain monopolies or preferential treatment “(Nile Bowie, COVERT OPS IN NIGERIA: Fertile Ground for U.S. Sponsored Balkanization, Global Research, April 11, 2012).   fraud of the “war against terrorism “serves to conceal the destabilization of Africa with the idea of controlling its resources. In the 1990s destabilized the Balkans for the same purpose: In the game of lies: the Great Powers, Yugoslavia, NATO and the next wars, Michel Collon explains how both destabilized the Balkansto control routes pipelines, dominate Eastern Europe and Russia weaken and master “to” insure [the establishment of] military bases [in Eastern Europe and the Balkans] “(Michel Collon, The game of lies: the Great Powers, Yugoslavia, NATO and the next wars, Hondarribia, Hiru, 1999 *).

Happening in the Middle East is a similar process, in a vast geographic region: “In July 2010 Syria, Iran and Iraq signed an agreement on a pipeline it plans to join the Iran’s South Pars field (the largest in the world) with Syria and, therefore, with the Mediterranean Sea. Near Homs, Syria, discovered another important field, which could become an alternative center of power brokers opposed to passing through Turkey and other routes controlled by European and U.S. companies “(Manlio Dinucci, L’art de la guerre. Syrie: l’Otan will gazoduc vise, October 9, 2012). U.S. Army resort to clandestine drone war to guarantee control of African resources. Although the United States and its allies have funded and supported materially mercenaries linked to al-Qaeda to overthrow the Libyan government and is operating in the same way in Libya, we are told that “the campaign against terrorism indicates that the administration [U.S.] will been concerned for some time the growing threat posed by al-Qaeda and its affiliates in North Africa “(Dozier, op.cit.) Although the Pentagon said that “at this time there are no plans for unilateral U.S. military operations “the article says the opposite of what is expected to Africans unilateral drone war: “The Delta Force group will form the core of a military detachment responsible for fighting al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups throughout the region with an arsenal that includes drones. But first work to gain acceptance helping North African nations to create their own special operations and counterterrorism units “(Ibid.) The hypocritical speech reproduced below indicates the “free flow of natural resources to the global market” and “ access to hydrocarbons and other strategic resourceswill be protected under the pretext of the” war on terror “: “The Obama administration is concerned about the growing power and influence over the affiliates of al-Qaeda in Yemen, Somalia, Iraq and North Africa. So far, only the Yemeni branch has tried to attack the U.S. with a series of frustrated bomb attack aircraft for the United States. A U.S. Navy SEAL ** detachment established in 2009 has used a combination of airstrikes and drones to fight fighters in Yemen and Somalia working with the CIA and local forces. Detachment’s new work in the same way to fight groups affiliated with al-Qaeda in North Africa, which are increasing and have plenty of weapons from the arsenals looted from Libya after the revolution. Are generously funded by a criminal network that traffic in drugs and hostages. Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, or AQIM (for its acronym in English) and based extremist sect Boko Haram in Nigeria are arguably the two biggest and most dangerous branches . A senior U.S. Department of State for African Affairs said Tuesday that `we must treat Mali militants by security and military means’” (Ibid.) And although we are told that “at this time no plans unilateral U.S. military operations, “Johnnie Carson, the U.S. assistant secretary of state for African affairs, seems to contradict this statement by stating that” any military action here should be well planned, organized, equipped and thought “and, how thoughtful!, “should be agreed between all those who will be most affected by it.” (Ibid.)

Qatar’s Brotherhood Ties Alienate Fellow Gulf States

Qatar’s Brotherhood Ties Alienate Fellow Gulf States

The Arab Gulf States may not admit it publically, but a schism is slowly emerging between these countries in the wake of the rise of Islamist powers in the region. Qatar, on the one hand, has wholeheartedly endorsed the new Islamist powers of the Arab world in the form of the Muslim Brotherhood, while the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have been skeptical at best. Although disagreements concerning external relations have previously emerged within the Gulf Cooperation Council states — for instance, some states have stronger ties with Iran than others would like to see — this is the first time that a member state has allied itself closely with a party that another member state accuses of undermining its system of government.

Qatar’s relations with the Muslim Brotherhood are multi-pronged. On the media front, Qatar has dedicated Al Jazeera, the country’s most prized non-financial asset, to the service of the Muslim Brotherhood and turned it into what prominent Middle East scholar Alain Gresh calls a “mouthpiece for the Brotherhood.” The channel has in turn been repeatedly praised by the Brotherhood for its “neutrality.” Qatar has also been very generous with the income from its gas wealth. Qatar’s influential prime minister pledged that his country would not allow Egypt to go bankrupt. Doha has already transferred five billion dollars to Egypt to help it meet its financial obligations and prevent the pound from sliding further.

In exchange for its assistance, Al Ahram reports that Egypt’s new government gave Qatar a number of assurances, including “technical support” for the Syrian opposition, the rotation — possibly to a Qatari citizen — of the Arab League Secretary General post, and “Egyptian approval of Qatari nominees on behalf of the Arab group in several international and regional forums.” Egypt has also given Qatar a number of perks, such as excluding Qatari investments from laws governing foreign ownership.

Saudi apprehension

While Saudi Arabia has also been generous with its assistance — the Kingdom granted Egypt $4 billion in assistance — it is still wary of the Muslim Brotherhood. Saudi scepticism stems mainly from two issues. The Brotherhood’s stance towards Saddam Hussein’s forces invasion of Kuwait in 1990 was seen by many in Saudi and other Gulf states as an endorsement of the aggression. This may also explain Kuwait’s cold shoulder treatment of the Brotherhood. The oil-rich Gulf state, whose sovereign wealth fund is estimated to reach $300 billion, hasn’t offered any meaningful aid to Egypt since the Brotherhood came to power. However, no Gulf official has been as public with voicing his distaste for the Brotherhood as the late Saudi Crown Prince and Interior Minister Prince Nayef, who was quoted as saying in 2002: “Without any hesitation I say it, that our problems, all of them, came from the direction of the Muslim Brotherhood.” The Saudis accuse the Muslim Brotherhood of “betraying” the Kingdom after it hosted their members who were persecuted during the Nasser era. While the UAE’s strict opposition to the Muslim Brotherhood stems from the country’s allegations that the group seeks to establish an “Islamist state in UAE.”

Although publicly welcoming the Brotherhood, Saudi Arabia has privately been opposing them. I was informed by a source that was present at recent negotiations to form the Syrian opposition of the Saudi delegation’s strong rejection of any Brotherhood figure. Saudi’s financial assistance could be read as an attempt to keep relations relatively warm and not allow this most important of Arab states to drift into an Iranian orbit.

The UAE has publicly taken the strictest position towards the Muslim Brotherhood and what it claims are the group’s activity on its territory. It has detained dozens of individuals it alleges are Brotherhood members, both citizens and more recently non-citizens. Looking back, the UAE was amongst the first countries to pledge aid to Egypt, as early as June 2011, in the form of $3 billion in small businesses and housing projects. However, none of that money has materialized, no doubt due to the deteriorating relations.

UAE-Qatar at opposite ends

The UAE and Qatar have accomplished an almost complete reversal of roles in relations with Egypt over the past two years. Egypt was a steadfast ally to the UAE under the previous Mubarak government, while relations with Qatar were cold at best. Following the ascent to power of the Brotherhood, Qatar was catapulted to the forefront of Egypt’s friends in the region. A case in point is the size of Qatari investments in Egypt prior to the revolution, which Egyptian government estimates put at a measly $260 million. On the other hand, the size of UAE investments in Egypt is estimated to be $5 billion, while trade is growing in double digits despite the spiraling of relations. Saudi investments in Egypt, probably the largest of any country, are estimated to be $12 billion. It is notable that Qatar announced plans to invest $18 billion in Egypt in the next five years.

On Mar. 5, 2012, Al Jazeera broadcast a show with Brotherhood televangelist Yousef Al-Qaradawi in which he warned the leadership of the UAE that they will be “facing the wrath of God” after a number of Syrians were deported to Egypt. The following day, the Emir of Qatar visited Abu Dhabi on an unannounced visit and is said to have reassured the UAE president of Qatar’s ties with its Gulf neighbor. That episode was never uploaded onto Al Jazeera’s website, but is available on YouTube. Al Qaradawi is amongst a group of Muslim Brotherhood leaders who immigrated to Qatar during the Nasser era and set up a branch in the Gulf state. In 1999, the Qatari chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood decided to dissolve its operations and by 2003 the dissolution was complete. In the same year, a series of meetings were held between the current Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and senior Muslim Brotherhood leaders in the hopes that a similar deal could be reached for the UAE chapter. The deal stipulated that the UAE chapter of the Brotherhood, known as Al Islah and established in the 1970s, can continue operating within the UAE in exchange for ending its pledges of allegiance to the Supreme Guide and ceasing political activities. According to the deputy leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, the group agreed to stop recruiting members from the UAE armed forces and to cease offering allegiance as of 2003, although nothing was said about halting political activities. Relations between the Brotherhood and the UAE never recovered following the collapse of this deal that for some reason succeeded in Qatar, but not in the Emirates.

Qatar’s interests

The Qatar-UAE-Egypt triangle has gone through different phases. In the mid-20th century, Dubai, the second emirate in the UAE, was the closest Gulf state to Qatar. Familial ties between both states translated into a common currency and strong economic ties. Following the Qatari coup d’état in 1996, in which the current Emir replaced his father who had good ties with Egypt, relations between Doha and Cairo deteriorated. Soon after, Qatar launched Al Jazeera, which hosted Egyptian and Saudi opposition for years until a thaw in relations took effect around 2008. Interestingly, Mubarak’s first visit in over a decade to Qatar took place only in November 2010, exactly two months before he fell from power.

Saudi and the UAE were also apprehensive of Qatar’s ties with Iran. These states were taken aback when Qatar invited Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to attend a meeting of the GCC in December 2007, making him the first Iranian leader to do so. Qatar’s attempts at smoothing relations with Iran are understandable in the light of both countries sharing the world’s biggest gas field. What is not so understandable is Qatar’s unwavering commitment to the Muslim Brotherhood to the degree that it may jeopardize relations with its neighboring Gulf States.

One Qatar-based researcher attributes the country’s active role to the Emir’s desire to “secure a legacy for himself,” while a soon to be published paper by a Princeton academic argues that Qatar sees the Brotherhood as a platform to exponentially increase its regional and global influence. There is no doubt that Qatar’s global significance has multiplied through piggybacking on Egypt’s stature and the regional influence of the Muslim Brotherhood.

While the UAE has alienated Egypt’s new leaders, Qatar has alienated Egypt’s population. It is yet unclear which strategy will work in the medium-to-long term. Qatar has certainly scored points of influence over the UAE at present, but the same will not apply to Saudi. For Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, the grand prize is no doubt the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with its massive wealth fund of $637 billion. The host of two of Islam’s three holiest sites in Mecca and Medina also includes over 1.5 million Egyptian immigrants. Ultimately, neither Qatar nor the UAE can ever replace the significance of Saudi Arabia for Egypt and its Muslim Brotherhood government.

Egypt’s welfare

Amidst the simmering disagreements between the wealthy Gulf states, it is important to consider what is best for Egypt. The country is facing major challenges including 4 million unemployed officially, tourism arrivals down by double-digit percentile points, underpaid doctors, over a million street children, poor infrastructure that results in the deaths of hundreds a year, and a variety of educational, environmental, social and other economic challenges. Egypt clearly needs all the friends it can get. No matter how honourable the Qatari Prime Minister’s intent to not let Egypt go bankrupt, the latter’s debts are far too large for it to be covered through Doha’s generosity. Egypt’s public debt is estimated at $224 billion, while Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund, while growing rapidly, is estimated at $136 billion. Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood needs foreign help to finance and implement its neo-liberal economic plans. This will include not only funding from Qatar, Saudi and the UAE, but also technical transfer from the latter to Egypt to help it tackle its various challenges.

Qatar rapprochement with the Muslim Brotherhood has drawn the ire not only of its Gulf’s neighbours  but also the Egyptian intelligentsia. News leaks about Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood concessions to the Gulf peninsula state — along with the bypassing of diplomatic norms such as neglecting to notify the Egyptian ambassador to Doha about Qatar’s Prime Minister’s recent visit to Cairo — only exacerbates tension with non-Islamists in Egypt. The Qataris have had to deny claims of attempting to “dominate” Egypt, and rebut allegations that it is buying the Suez Canal, one of Egypt’s main sources of revenue. One must only visit social media pages of Egyptian activists and intellectuals to see their heavily negative reaction to the warming of relations between the Brotherhood and Qatar, a phenomenon also reported widely in the Egyptian media. Local outlets have also been reporting on growing discontent within the Egyptian street over ties to Qatar, with one former Egyptian minister threatening to throw himself off a tower if the Brotherhood handed the Suez Canal to the Gulf state.

Concern in Qatar

On on-line private messages too, citizens of Qatar, traditionally a Salafi Wahhabi, state have been telling me of their discontent with the state policy towards the Brotherhood. I sought permission to publish parts of an email I received from a Qatari commenting on the state’s close ties and financial aid to the Brotherhood:

“The problem is that the amount of aid isn’t beneficial to any party except the MB. Egyptian aid from Qatar is now tied into the MB. The people of Egypt know this and it can create a problem later with the question of democracy.

Qatar’s diplomacy is at some level now delegitimize by their aid being tied to a party. Qatar aids parties that, in return, they influence. Rather than being a respectable third party, Qatar has now interjected itself in Egyptian, Libyan and Syrian politics, for better or worse.

The UAE and Saudi Arabia are a bit different because now they can help in future situations without question (or as much controversy) on how objective they can be. While Qatar has a stake in the MB, the success of the MB means more influence for Qatar.”

Doha’s Brotherhood gamble

Clearly Qatar is taking a giant leap of faith with the Brotherhood, something it is not unknown to do before when it built ties simultaneously with Hamas and Israel, Iran and the US, the Taliban and the West. This time Qatar will be hoping that its Muslim Brotherhood allies succeed in their political and economic project and, since it is so heavily invested in them, they may also hope that their hold on power lasts for some time. Qatar will also, at minimum, expect Egypt’s Brotherhood to be a loyal friend in return, although many who have dealt with the Brotherhood may advise Doha to read about the group’s record of keeping promises and alliances when they are no longer beneficial. Consider for an instant a scenario in which Saudi Arabia presents Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood with a choice of expanding its relations with the Kingdom in exchange for an easing of ties with the Qataris. It probably won’t be a difficult decision for the Brotherhood to make.

Qatar, after all, presents the Brotherhood with two major assets. First, the country’s Al Jazeera satellite channel which — although no longer popular in Egypt following the advent of numerous local channels — still enjoys substantial regional viewer-ship from which the network can continue to propagate the Brotherhood’s message. Second, Qatar is today the Muslim Brotherhood’s banker and personal financier, bankrolling its budget and investing heavily in the group’s projects. However, Qatar’s vast per-capita wealth pales in comparison to Islamic heavyweight Saudi Arabia’s several hundred billion dollars in assets and invest-able funds. Whatever diplomatic and regional weight Qatar and Al Jazeera can offer the Brotherhood could easily be matched by Saudi Arabia’s much larger media and diplomatic network. Meanwhile, the UAE and Saudi will continue to wonder what exactly Qatar wants from the Brotherhood as they see their smaller Gulf neighbour fully immerse itself in the Brotherhood’s challenges, hopes and ambitions.

It would indeed be ironic if the Brotherhood, having been nurtured and supported by Qatar so carefully, turns its back on the state in the coming few years. Ironic perhaps, but not unlikely.

MOHAMED MAGARIEF (CIA)

M’hamed Maqrif (CIA)

Why we are writing this statement to people is what some sites that promoted Alan choose client Magarief .. Council President-elect is now gasping behind the Muslim Brotherhood .. Behind Gabriel .. and others .. بتملق buy and sell ..Although we know that all Libyans Liberals know .. But in order not to damage shame our youth revolution we have seen from the reality of our responsibility to clarify the following:

1. That Megarief was recruited in India by the CIA when it sample the tyrant as ambassador and they forced him on to resign and transferred him to Morocco .. Where were severed diplomatic ties with them .. He brought his son-in-law (Sd), who heads the Front now .. And a group of customers and the purpose is to destabilize the regime in Libya and pressure until does not constitute an obstacle to peace draft with oppositions in Camp David.

 2. Then he moved to Cairo in the Sadat era .. Was provide all the possibilities to play his role .. So that in the Reagan era there was a plan to divide Libya .. Represented Magarief and front interface .. Did not succeed despite the generous support .. From the Gulf states, especially Saudi Arabia, and colleagues who knows in front of the rest of the checks and conflict stories and the rest of the scandals are documented.

3. Then turned the front to the task of recruiting young people to Libya for the CIA to kill Gaddafi and carrying out sabotage operations in facilities .. Were trained in the Nimeiri era .. In Sudan and we have documents to each of the meetings with Sharon in Khartoum and a team of Mossad was supervised by trained .. Has been admitted by the French intelligence and Tunisia to Libya and actually were in the centre of Tripoli Building .. And one of them informed the Libyan intelligence raided the place and arrested some and killed others .. have fled the Hassi our intelligence director now that has been smuggled through one of the Western embassies to the United States .. He also became an active member of the CIA who is now head of the Libyan intelligence service .. He was intercepted and it looks like the influential U.S. imposed on the Council .. This is a summary of the history of the front of the reality of intelligence files, Egypt, Morocco, Sudan and supplied to Libya when he returned relations with Gaddafi .. It is in our possession in the External Security all documents, photos and evidence.

4. We say that now because we know that Magarief and many like him .. Pushed their Western circles to form unfortunately interface for the youth revolution and acquisitions and harnessed to their advantage .. We all know satellite rebels who been Polished by Qatar and Al Jazeera, the BBC and Channel 24 French like melons .. Fri swaddled (British intelligence) Fayez Jibril (husband Magarief daughter CIA) Ibrahim blasted and others .. They have nothing to do with the revolution in Libya and we have to differentiate between the client and the rebellious who sold his country and between his case and the bribed which implements the agenda for other countries. finally. It’s all here, the alarm bell for our youth and rebel true who shot down the tyrant that does not abandon in Libya and not allow these customers access to the highest authority on our shoulders and our victims (martyrs) did not let the revolution even ruled clients, and did not offer sacrifices in order to enable customers America, Britain and Qatar from the rule of Libya Free .. They are known in intelligence circles, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Chad, France, America, Britain and known their price, how we allow that they have a place in any location responsibility .. What alone in the Council, which attach it last hopes of saving the revolution but in the Salvation of Libya??!!.
